Choosing
your Practitioner
Use your family practitioner to guide you through the
process:
Your family practitioner would be a great place to start
when trying to find the right doctor (of any specialty) for
you. They most likely know the reputations of the
other Doctors in the area and can give you a good
recommendation. You could simply ask them who they
would recommend for you or give them a list of Doctors and
see who they would choose.
Don't forget that many practitioners may be trained in
many aspects of medical care. Some may even be able to
help you with labor and delivery. Just make sure you
ask them about their experience and training in pregnancy
and delivery (or whatever it is you need help with) as their
qualifications may vary. Many practitioners will refer
you to a specialist if complications arise.
