Surely we know of families who are able to survive exceptionally well on far less money than we generate, or a family who has an exceptionally high income that just can't seem to make ends meet.

No matter how much (or little) income we generate, our budget and financial life are within our control.

Many of us could use improvement in our financial situations, even if only to save more for retirement, buy that new dining room set we have been wanting, or to take a dream vacation.  If you find it's a struggle to make ends meet each month or to save for those items you really want... think about what areas of your budget are worth sacrificing costs.

You may decide your dream house is a priority, but you are willing to give up some convenience services and brown bag your lunch to help balance the budget.
